Precautionionary Message: Exposing your eyes to the sun without proper eye protection during a solar eclipse can cause “eclipse blindness” or retinal burns, and we advised you to use proper Wearables before you look in to the sky.
21 June 2020 is the upcoming solar eclipse date. Dubbed a Ring of Fire eclipse, the annular solar eclipse will be perfectly visible in Lalibela, Ethiopia, the right place to be in to witness the once in a while natural phenomena. This is what we call two birds in one stone, enjoying the solar eclipse while visiting one of the world’s wonders of history.
The date falls on a weekend which makes the experience more convenient to travel. People are registering well ahead of time and you may plan your trips from now on to enjoy the experience together with the massive folks already heading.
Remember, a solar eclipse occurs when the moon gets between Earth and the Sun and when the moon casts a shadow over Earth, and it does not happen often. Do not miss this opportunity. The last total solar eclipse occurred on 26 December 2019, and we were not that lucky in Africa.
Note: This post was written in the context of pre-COVID-19. Yet, there is still a possibility of travelling to Lalibela and watch the once in a while natural phenomena together with visiting the rock hewn churches, world wonders of Lalibela.
