The write up in the press release further elaborates Ethiopia, the Land of Origins, as follows.
Situated in the Eastern tip of Africa, traditionally known as the horn of Africa, Ethiopia is an ancient country that testifies a fountain of ancient civilizations and symbolizes a melting pot of diverse cultures cross-fertilized through the millennia. It is one of the largest, the size of France and Spain combined, and is the second most populous country in Africa with more than 80 languages spoken in different parts of the country. Thus, Ethiopia is a country whose unique cultural heritage, rich history and remarkable biodiversity are reflected in a tally of nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites and four intangible cultural heritages – more than any other country in Africa. Being the origin of so many things, there are sufficient reasons to tell you that Ethiopia is the land of origins!
Ethiopia is the cradle of mankind where we first walked on two legs, Lucy, the oldest human ancestor, has been unearthed in Ethiopia. It is also the source of the Blue Nile, the great river whose power and fertility nurtured the origin of civilization itself.
Moreover, Ethiopia is the origin of one of life’s greatest pleasures – Coffee, Ethiopia’s gift to the world. In the truest sense, the country is known for spectacular geographic formations and breathtaking landscapes where the highest mountain Ras Dashen (4500m) and the lowest place, Danakil Depression (117m b.s.l)) are found. Captivating wild animals and myriad of plant species, astonishing archaeological assets and geological settings, peculiarly diverse cultures and absorbing traditions are some of the notable features of Ethiopia.
Due to these, the country has incredibly diverse tourism products that would indulge tourists with immersive experiences. The range of products offered include but not exclusive to heritage based tours, sightseeing, trekking and hiking, wildlife viewing and ecotourism, bird watching, traditional festivals, white water rafting, hot-air ballooning, desert expedition, gastronomy, business and conference trips, rock climbing, mountain running, archaeological exploration. Generally, Ethiopia offers limitless opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts and curious travelers.
Its capital Addis Ababa (New Flower in Amharic), positioned at 2300 meters a.s.l enjoying a pleasant climate, is the seat of the African Union, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and other organizations. The city has one of the highest number of diplomatic missions in the world with good air connectivity provided by the most efficient and reliable carrier; Ethiopian airlines.
Ethiopia is not only a paradise for visitors, it is also an ideal destination for investors where large scale political and economic reforms led by the Nobel peace prize winner of 2020, H.E Dr. Abiy Ahmed (the prime minister of Ethiopia) are ongoing to open up economic opportunities.
