Trip Description

This trip take tourists to the rural part of the country.  Community trek based in Lalibela surrounding let you connect with the real experience of the community by sharing their way of life such as Dancing , eating, cooking.  Tourists walk from one community guest house to the next community guest house , on the way see farm activities on the field, schools  . End the trip with visit 11th century rock hewn churches of Lalibela, carved from  a single bed rock . The church in place worshipping for more than 900 years.

Itinerary

Day 1: Addis Ababa- Lalibela Trek to Mequat community guest house/3 hours’ trek.

In the morning, fly north to Lalibela and up on arrival the trek guide and driver will meet you be transferred straight to the trek start place, vehicle drop of at the trial head, Werkahaye Mariam, lunch stop. Here, you will be service with lunch meet your local guides and start the first day walk to Mequat Mariam Community guest house. Today, walkwalk 3 hours on the flat terrain. Late in the evening enjoy the sunset watching the lastray of the sun while having your beer.
Overnight stay: Mequat community guest house.
Meal: BLD.

Day 2: Trek Mequat to Wajela community guest house/ trek 7 Hours + stop

After breakfast, walk to wajela community guest house. You will hike 7 hours plus stop, the walk is more or less on the flat landscape, close to half of your trek you will have a lunch stop at Meskele , and proceed your walk after lunch. Wajela community guesthouse is the coziest guest house, also village life going around the community guest
house.
Overnight stay: Wajela community guest house.

Day3: Trek Wajela to Aterow community guest house/ trek 5 Hours + stop

Have your breakfast and trek to Atreow community guest house. The walk today is 5hours plus stop, also have lunch at Gecha Mender and proceed your hike to the guest house. Up on arrival you will be hosted by the Aterow communities.

Day4: Trek Aterow to Yadukulay community guest house/ trek 4 Hours + stop

Walk to Yadukulay community guest house, trek 4 hours, you will have lunch at the community guest house. If you want to walk more, you can proceed walk after lunch, the walk is to the cave church, return to the guest house late in the evening.
Overnight stay: Yadukulay community guest house.

Day5: Trek Yadukulay to Boya community guest house/ trek 7 Hours + stop

Have your breakfast and walk to Boya community guest house, today you will have  tough walk steep terrain with up & down sections. The walk will take 7 hours plus stops.
Overnight stay: Boya community guest house.

Day 6: Trek Boya to Aina Amba community guest house/ trek 7 Hours + stop

Breakfast at Boya community guest house, walk to Aina Amba community guest house. Aina Amba community guest house is the best community guest house in terms of its location and service.
Overnight stay: Aina Amba community guest house.
Meal: BLD

Day7: Aina Amba- Lalibela/ trek 1 hour, drive 3 hours

After breakfast drive to Lalibela town. Arrive in time for lunch in Lalibela. After this long hike, today relax at the hotel on your own.
Overnight stay: Roha Hotel.

Day 8: Lalibela

Today, we visit 11 outstanding medieval rock hewn churches of Lalibela. These Churches were carved during the period of King Lalibela, from 1181 – 1221. The churches are registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Lalibela, is one of the seven world heritage site. Today we will visit all the 11 rock hewn churches of Lalibela. In the morning we will see the first group of the churches. After lunch, we proceed to the second group and we end the tour at Bete Giorgis , the most photographic of all.

Day9: Lalibela-Addis Ababa

Morning fly back to Addis Ababa. If you have international flight connect at Bole international airport.
